Alcatel launched two new smartphones at MWC 2016. The New Models are the Idol 4 and Idol 4S, both with flagship specs and excellent acoustics. Does it remind you of iPhone series, very confusing these days, as every one goes by NUmberic and numeric+s.
The designs feel like a fusion of the Galaxy S6 and the Xperia Z power key.
Ok, lets talk of speciality, These models can operate in both vertical and horizontal orientation and even turned around. Another speciality is JBL and Waves technology, for better and much improved acoustics, with powerful 3.6 Watt speakers included, HiFi surround sound and optimization of audio presets.
Alcatel Idol 4 measures 7.1 mm in thickness and integrates a 5.2 inch Full HD screen with an IPS LTPS panel.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, 3 GB RAM coupled with 16 GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot. For photography, a 13 MP back camera and a front 8 MP selfie cam with flash are provided. Connectivity is of the LTE Category 6 and running on a 2610 mAh battery inside.
Alcatel Idol 4S has a 5.5 inch Quad HD AMOLED screen, a 6.99 mm thin body and a Snapdragon 652 processor. The storage goes up to 32 GB, we get a 3000 mAh battery and a special physical key called Boomkey. It can be mapped to trigger a variety of features, like shooting photos from standby and optimize audio with one press, as well as release Nitro in Asphalt games.
Alcatel included another interesting aspect here, making the boxes of the devices ready to be turned into Google CardBoard-style VR headsets.
