Antutu Benchmark May 2016 : 6GB RAM Smartphones hit the Top Spot

2016 is a battle ground for RAM, Camera and Display for Smartphones. I still remember my old days when a score of 50k plus was a landmark on Antutu. But in 2016, Even 100 k plus seems normal.

8 Smartphones landed up crossing 125 k plus score, while 2 Smartphones scored 94k and 96k respectively. Top 3 Smartphones on Antutu are a combination of Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM, 64GB / 128GB ROM. Except for the Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro, the top two, the Vivo Xplay5 Elite and the LeEco Max 2, have QHD screens.

One point is clear, Brand does not matter these days. Samsung, Apple and LG missed the Top slot, while Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was placed at 5th Rank, while LG G5 could capture 8th slot.

Another surprising point was, iPhone SE outranked LG G5 by almost 3k points. Both of these smartphones have processors similar to their peers, Snapdragon 820 or the same Apple A9 as the iPhone 6s. They rank higher because they have smaller screens with smaller resolutions, compared to the WQHD of the other Flagship Smartphones.

  1. Vivo XPLay 5 Elite – 138 k
  2. LeECO Max2 – 138 k
  3. Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro – 136 k
  4. Xiaomi 5 – 136 k
  5. Galaxy S7 Edge – 134 k
  6. iPhone 6S – 133 k
  7. iPhone SE – 131 k
  8. LG G5 – 128 k
  9. Meizu Pro6 – 96 k
  10. Honor V8 – 94 k
