Apple released a commercial for Apple Music featuring Taylor Swift four days ago that went viral within no time. Over 10 million already watched Taylor Swift falling off a treadmill, while listening to Jumpman by Drake and Future and raps and dances perfectly to until she falls on her face and slides off the treadmill.
Singer Kelly Clarkson loves the funny commercial too. She said on Twitter: “Oh my gosh @taylorswift13 your commercial right now where you fall off the treadmill is pretty much my favorite thing ever ha! So funny!” I am pretty sure Clarkson watch the Taylor Swift ad more than one time.
Apple hit the viral jackpot with the Taylor Swift commercial. There is still more potential though. Taylor Swift has over 74 million followers on Twitter and 72 million on Instagram alone. At least 60 million of those have not seen her idol fall off a treadmill yet.
The Taylor vs. Treadmill commercial had already been seen by over 6.8 million people in the first 24 hours on Youtube. I guess many watch the ad again and again to see if it is really Taylor Swift that falls off the treadmill. My observations lead me to the conclusion that there is stunt double that takes the fall for her.
The fall, while straight forward, is not that easy to pull off and not get hurt. The commercial seems to be well edited, but there are scenes that support that Swift has not risk injuring her beautiful face for Apple. Taylor Swift said on Twitter that the commercial is based on true events. Watch the funny Taylor vs. Treadmill commercial below.
As of February of 2016, Apple Music has 11 million subscribers. Spotify announced in March that it surpassed 30 million subscribers. Spotify is not slowing down since Apple launched its competing service. It’s understandable why Apple gets out the big guns to advertise the Apple Music service.
