Commodore Smartphones relaunched

Ever heard the name of CBM ( Commodore Business Machines ), launched first computer ” Pet ” in 1977 –

“Computers for the masses, not the classes”

Commodore International (or Commodore International Limited) was a North American home computer and electronics manufacturer. Commodore International (CI) along with its subsidiary Commodore Business Machines (CBM) participated in the development of the Home PC. Commodore 64 was the best ever selling Model of the company, shipping around thousands of Units in a day, total sales contributing ~ 17 million Units.

Commodore declared bankruptcy on April 29, 1994 and the board of directors “authorized the transfer of its assets to trustees for the benefit of its creditors,” according to an official statement.

Following its liquidation, Commodore’s former assets went their separate ways, with none of the descendant companies repeating Commodore’s early success. Both Commodore and Amiga product lines were produced in the 21st century, but separately with Amiga Inc.  being its own company and Commodore computers being produced by Commodore an unrelated Florida-based company that had purchased the brand name. Other companies develop operating systems and manufacture computers for both Commodore and Amiga brands as well as software.

Now, Commodore, the Symbolic computer brand of the 1980s is back in Business with an Android smartphone that will allow users to play games.

The Commodore PET looks like a classic mid-range smartphone, 4G-compatible with double sim capacity. It features a 5.5-inch screen (1920×1080 pixels) and is equipped with a 1.7 GHz Mediatek 64-bit octa-core processor. It also includes a 13-megapixel camera able to film in high definition (1080p). Named PET, the phone pays tribute to the first ever Commodore computer launched in 1977.
