Apple finally introduced side-by-side multitasking for the iPad with the release of iOS 9, allowing users to view and interact with two separate apps at once. While productivity-minded users were thrilled with the new feature, some users prefer a more focused single-app approach and found that some of the iPad’s new multitasking features were more frustrating than helpful.
If you find yourself accidentally entering into the Slide Over sidebar multitasking mode on the iPad often, or perhaps you just don’t like Slide Over for some other reason, you can turn the feature off completely and prevent it from showing up.
Though it’s available in Settings but most of the time users struggle to do small things, Simple Reason, it’s not easy for you to remember everything.
But Remember, With “Allow Multiple Apps” feature Turned off, you will not have access to the sidebar Slide Over feature regardless of how many times you swipe from the side of the iPad display.
Step by Step Process to Disable Multitasking
- Open the “Settings” app on iPad and go to “General” section
- Choose “Multitasking”
- Flip the switch next to “Allow Multiple Apps” to the OFF position
- Exit the Settings app in normal mode by simply pressing the Home button
