The Galaxy Note 5 is still a sparkly new product, and with the Galaxy S7 just over the hill, no one is thinking about the next iteration in the Note series; no one except maybe Samsung. A patent filed back in late 2015 suggests that Samsung is already doing some planning for the Note 6 – or at least as far as the S Pen is concerned.
Samsung is planning on having the S Pen double as a phone stand for the Note 6. It’s pretty hard to fathom, but it can be done apparently. The S Pen will be pulled about half way out of the device, and from there it will bend, causing the bottom half to sit at an angle to the phone. On the inside, a locking mechanism will secure the S Pen and keep it from slipping.
If this comes to be true, then Samsung will further differentiate itself from all other phones sporting a stylus, and further establish the Note line as the king of the phablet. More details about the Note 6 won’t trickle in for a long time, as the Note 5 is still in its infancy, but this little bit of news does well to let us in the tech world know that we can expect some interesting things from the next Galaxy Note.
