Google free music streaming service to counter Apple and Spotify

Google launched free streaming Music in US  as Apple is launching streaming Music on Trial Basis for three months starting from June 30th

Previously almost every one on Android tried Google Music, but never ever paid for it and left. Now the time has changed, Google needs to promote Music and Google captured this last opportunity.

Google is using Songza, An Internet Radio company which was acquired by Google last year. Google is expecting the free access with Advertisements will surely encourage users to spend some money , may be $ 10 a month for ad free streaming ,  ‘All Access’ plan to unlock features like on-demand playback without ads, offline listening, and use of the YouTube Music Key app, a music streaming service that includes videos.

Google has been taking all steps to encourage users to use applications, like free streaming, offline use of you tube.

Zahavah Levine, vice president of content partnerships for Google Play Music expect that ” Up until now, this has been a lost opportunity to bring more people in. ”

Apple has never allowed Android make money on App stores. As per statistics, A standard Apple user spends 4 times more money than an Android User. Basic difference comes as Apple buyers are mostly top notch and most of Android users are first time users of Smartphones who dont like to spend any money. Another reason is most of countries where Android is popular do not have credit cards and another key reason is, Google is not so active for Operator’s billing.

Android users spend around $ 5 / month as compared to $ 21 by Apple users.

What you think, Will google succeed in it’s effort to divert customers to Google Music.
