Google has been a big name in Smartphones when it comes to Android or Nexus. Though, Google has managed to provide a wonderful stock Android and some great features in Nexus 6P, But Huawei failed a little in maintaining the reputation of Google in terms of Hardware.
Though Google Nexus 6P is recently launched, but Users are already facing Hardware problems. You can witness these complaints on either Google Forum or XDA forum. Users have been complaining about three major problems at the moment.
- Screen Shattering
Not a good news for Huawei, as it may hurt the company reputation, also Google may not select Huawei as a future Partner.
Let’s have a look at the issues in depth. Review from a user on Google Forum :
I have been facing issue with nexus 6p when headphones without mic like sony xb30ex earphones are connected. This headphones do not have mic embedded in them so when these headphones are connected to the phone ideally the microphone of the phone should be enabled. So that user can use the mic of the phone to talk to caller. This does not happen in the case of nexus 6p. When i connect my sony xb30ex headphones to phone the microphone of the phone is disabled and the caller does not here my voice at all. I have been using these headphones with other phones such as motorola, sony, micromax and htc. I never this issue in any such phone at all.
I have tried this on vanilla settings , safe mode and that too after resetting the phone. But the issue persists which means its a bug with the OS itself.
While talking to my wife today she could barely hear me and said it sounded like I was very far away or muffled. This was while I had the headset to my ear like normal. If I put it on speaker, she said it would sound okay. I tried to find others with this phone and a similar issue, but couldn’t. Please help!
Google reply in this matter :
Jamie – Good to hear back from you and thanks for the info.
If you don’t want to exchange, then there isn’t much you can do besides waiting for a future update and hope that it is included.
Keep me in the loop if something changes or if you have questions.
**EDIT** I have reported this to my CM to investigate further. He or I will update the thread when we have more info.***
Shattered Screen Issue
Well that was a surprise. For me, and the cat. It was sat on a table next to me when I heard the glass snap, leaving a little snowfall of shavings on the table under it. It’s now continuing to crack away to itself.
ifixit found that Screen is way too tight between the frame. After the glass was removed, you can see that there doesn’t appear to be any kind of insert around the edge to allow it to expand or deal with forces coming at it from the sides.
This Glass cover is on back side and basically covers Camera Lens and Flash.
