India develops World’s Cheapest Smartphone : Bell Freedom 251 only for $ 7


India has emerged as a major smartphone market in the last couple of years. Specially when we talk of Indian Smartphone manufacturers like Micromax , Intex and now Ringing Bells. The Indian smartphone market is full of smartphones ranging from as low as INR 2000 (USD 29) to INR 100000 (USD 1467) and even more.

But Now India becomes World’s first country to develop a smartphone for INR 500 (USD 7) smartphone until now. Ringing Bells an Indian handset manufacturing company is coming with a smartphone called Freedom 251. The smartphone is priced at under INR 500 (USD 7).

The final price announcement and the launch would be done by Hon’ble Union minister, Ministry of Defense Shri Manohar Parrikkar, Govt. of India. in the presence of Shri Murali Manohar Joshi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament.”

Recently Ringing Bells also launched the India’s Most Affordable 4G smartphone – Ringing Bells Smart 101 smartphone at a price of Rs. 2999. It Features a 5 inch IPS 960x 480 pixels resolution Display and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system. It is Powered by 1.3 GHz Quadcore Processor which is paired with 1GB of DDR3 RAM. and Sports an 8-Megapixel Rear camera with LED flash and a 3.2-megapixel Secondary Front facing camera on board.

There have been such initiatives before like the Aakash tablet which was endorsed by the UPA government. The Aakash tablet was specially made for the underprivileged students. Aakash tablet didn’t work out well as the response was quite poor because of the poor quality of the device. Narendra Modi’s government has focused highly on making India digital. This step can really help as it will cater to even the poorest of poor people who can afford this phone.
