Friday, 16th Jan, Lenovo A 6000, cheapest 4G Smartphone was launched with an aggressive price tag of Rs 6,999 to take on offerings from Microsoft, Micromax and Xiaomi have already launched 4G devices costing less than Rs 10,000 like Note 4G @ 9999 and Yureka @ 8999 .
Lenovo A6000, will be available exclusively via online marketplace Flipkart through flash sale, E-commerce that has been adopted by Xiaomi , Micromax and Motorola in India with great success. The first flash sale will be on January 28.
The registration based flash sale, may determine the real demand coming out of market.Sudhin Mathur, director-smartphones, at Lenovo India said “We are hopeful for this product as it has a mass appeal attached to it,”
Mathur further added, India smartphone sales have growth threefold last year, compared with an 80% expansion in the Indian market. “India is a strategic market for Lenovo and we want to grow further and We are also strengthening our distribution network”
Lenovo India may further look into the possibility of selling this phone to operators and capture mass market.
Smartphone makers are targeting India with huge interest. Sales are estimated to be around 80 million units in 2014, which still is not even a tenth of the overall mobile users in India – an indication of the potential the market offers.
