LG recently launched the new X series with two smartphones – the LG X screen and X cam. LG X Screen is basically a lower version of LG V10 and the X Cam integrates the dual rear camera setup of the LG G5.
Major Specs of X Cam
5.2″ FHD Display ~ 424 ppi
1.14 GHz Octa-Core ( Chipset not known )
2GB RAM + 16GB ROM with expandable Memory
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
13 MP + 5 MP Rear Dual Camera
8 MP Selfie Camera
2520 mAh Battery
Though LG X Cam looks stylish, light weight and slim, but Plastic material makes it a very cheap smartphone. For sure, X Cam is a budget smartphone. In my opinion, to make it light weight, LG compromised on metal design.
The power/lock key is located on the right, with volume and the tray for a SIM card and microSD card on the left. Back of smartphone houses a Dual Cam, Flasha nd laser autofocus.
Though the Display looks bright and clear, but not as bright as Samsung AMOLED Displays.
LG X Cam runs on Android Marshamallow out of the Box, but the major missing point is the App Drawer, but the reason could be as we heard Android is removing App Drawer. As such, the UI looks clean and very simple to use.
Though the Chipset is not known yet, but seeing the In-build memory of 16GB coupled with 2GC RAM, specs have failed to impress. LG forgot now-a-days, 3GB RAM is the game play sub Rs 10000.
More over, When you project a Smartphone as Cam, it’s mandatory that you provide a high in-built memory, where in LG failed to do so.
X Cam sports Dual Camera on back : 13MP snipper coupled with a 5MP wide-angle lens allowing you to get more in your shots, although you will sacrifice image quality.
For Selfie, 8 MP is camera is good enough. We took some snaps which came out to be good. The key point is shutter speed which is reasonable good enough. The interface of the camera app is pretty much the same as what you get on the LG G5.
Though LG X Cam is a smartphone capable of taking amazing pictures, but when we talk of Hardware specially In-Built memory and Material Quality, LG seems to be out of battle. knowing LG history, for sure LG will again fail to keep the pricing on track. If LG can positioning X Cam correctly, it will be a winner or else !!! as always, LG will fail again.
