Micromax announced three new smartphones to existing 4G LTE range – the Canvas Blaze 4G, the Canvas Fire 4G and the Canvas Play 4G. Micromax has tied up with Airtel to offer 4G double data for a period of six months.
Canvas Blaze 4G @ Rs. 6,999
Canvas Blaze 4G sports a 4.5″ FWVGA display. Powered by a 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8 GB Rom expandable upto 32 GB via microSD Card and supported by 2000 mAh battery. Blaze 4G is equipped with 5 MP rear Camera and 2 MP selfie camera.
Canvas Fire 4G @ 6,999
The Canvas Fire 4G is equipped with a 4.5″ display and powered by a 1 GHz MTK6735M quad core processor ARM Cortex A53. The device is working on 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB ROM and powered with a 1850 mAh. Fire 4G is equipped with 5 MP rear Camera and 2 MP selfie camera.The smartphone is powered with 1850 mAh battery.
There is not much of difference in Blaze and Fire 4G versions, except that of Processor. Blaze 4G works on Qualcomm while Fire 4G works on Mediatek processor.
If you recall, Mediatek has tied up with Micromax to launch smartphones on Helio platform.
Canvas Play 4G @ 12,499
The Canvas Play 4G is equipped with a 5.5″ HD IPS display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Device is Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. On photography front, Play is equipped with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP selfie camera.
Commenting on the new launches, Shubhajit Sen, CMO, Micromax Informatics, said, “With the roll out of the 4G networks across 296 cities and more cities by December this year, we expect this to surge a shift from 3G to 4G as well 2G to 4G in under-penetrated markets. Our 4G smartphone launches are well timed with the 4G technology evolution and roll-out to ensure our consumers use mobile internet for not just entertainment but also for work while at home or on the go. Over the due course of time our entire Canvas range of smartphones will be upgraded to 4G.”
With the consumer demand constantly shifting towards faster internet speed and seamless connectivity, Micromax now has a portfolio of 6 devices in less than three months. All three devices run Android Lollipop.
Sen further added, “We would want to stay true to brand’s positioning of ‘Democratizing Technology’ and help in ‘Massification of 4G’ providing the access of 4G to all with our range of smartphones starting INR 6999 to 10999. We are further looking to expand our LTE range and will be launching 5 to 6 more 4G enabled smartphones at various price points by the end of 2015 leveraging both online and offline channels”.
