Using Alphabets is a very common scenario in Smartphone Manufacturers. I remember the days when LG started using sweet names like Chocolate, and than Black Label series.
Today’s Scenario is slightly different, Cmpanies are using Alpha-Numeric Branding for Smartphones. Moto has gone one step ahead and reached the Last Alphabet in 2016. From Moto G to Moto X and now it’s Moto Z.
It’s fairly uncommon for manufacturers to change the flagship lineup’s branding ( you can take example of Galaxy S Series , LG G Series, iPhone 3-4-5-6 ), it will actually be the third such occurrence this model year. HTC deviated slightly and changed the name of 2016 Flagship device HTC 10 to Numeric only. While on the other side, Sony moved in the opposite direction to Motorola, from Xperia Z to Xperia X.
This year Motorola is planning to come out with few Flagship Models, code named as Vertex and Vector Thin. Vector Thin, the more premium handset, will be known as the Moto Z Style, while Vertex will apparently be dubbed Moto Z Play.
Summarizing, We are assuming, Moto may have few Models in Z series :
- Moto Z
- Moto Z Style
- Moto Z play
- Moto Z power / Maxx
Let’s wait till June, What Lenovo may come out with. Rest please do share your thoughts.
