OPPO has launched its first F series smartphone named as the F1. F1 is photography-focused smartphone that has been designed for selfie lovers. The phone comes with some innovative imaging features, which the company claims will enable users click good selfies even in low light. The smartphone sports a premium aluminium unibody design with a slim 7.25mm frame.
OPPO F1 houses an 8 MP front-facing camera with a wide f/2.0 aperture. It has the capability to turn its entire screen into a selfie flash, a feature that’s similar to Retina Flash on the Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus (review). The primary shooter on board has a 13-megapixel sensor, aided by an LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 1080p recording. The handset also comes with several software tweaks like Beautify 3.0 interface and eight live colour filters.
OPPO F1 sports a 5-inch HD IPS TFT display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The phone is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, coupled with 3-gigs of RAM and an Adreno 405 GPU. For storage, it gets 16GB of internal memory that can be further increased up to 128GB. In terms of connectivity, it offers dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. A 2,500mAh battery keeps the phone running. The OPPO F1 runs the ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The phone has been priced at Rs 15,990, and comes in a gold colour option. OPPO also announced the F1 Plus at the event, which features a 5.5-inch full HD screen, 4GB of RAM and a better front camera experience. It is priced at Rs 26,990, but will be launched at a later date.
Oppo Smartphones comes with 30 days replacement and 24 months warranty.
At the launch, Oppo signed partnership with ICC and announced a special Edition.
