Samsung Galaxy S6 launch date – MWC 2015 March ??
Though no official from Samsung has confirmed launch date, but MWC 2015 does not seem to be platform for launch. S6 launch will be delayed till April. If we follow the past trend, S3 – May 2012, S4 – April 2013 and S5 – April 2014.
As a standard, Phone is announced to Media couple of weeks before launch, but till now Samsung has not given any intimation.
As already conveyed in earlier post, Galaxy S6 will be the phone for 2015. Expected specs will be :
Qualcomm’s Q4 financial report suggests that Samsung may not be using Qualcomm owing to Thermal issues altogether in favour of own Exynos chipset. In its forward-looking statement, Qualcomm revealed that it had expectations that our Snapdragon 810 processor will not be in the upcoming design cycle of a large customer’s flagship device.” While this could refer to any major phone manufacturer, the recent rumblings suggest that Samsung may well be the “large customer” in question.
All things considered, that makes the Exynos model a far more likely prospect, which is handy as nearly all of its specs have been leaked already when it was spotted being benchmarked on the AnTuTu app in China. According to the rumours, this version will have a 64-bit octa-core Exynos processor with an ARM Mail-T760 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It will also have 32GB of storage and will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop. The leak also states the phone will be following in the Note 4’s footsteps with a 5.5in 2,560×1,440 resolution display.
Most of these specs seem like logical choices. Samsung has been gradually increasing its screen sizes other the years, moving from a 4.8in screen on the Galaxy S3, to a 5in screen on the S4 and a 5.1in screen on the S5. While 5.5in seems like quite a large jump in this respect.
Samsung has also said that it wants to keep boosting screen resolutions and has claimed it will launch a 4K 3,840×2,160 smartphone in 2015. If true, this could compromise the Galaxy S6’s status as Samsung’s flagship smartphone.
S6 will be equipped with 20plus megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation. The S3 had an 8 megapixel snapper, the S4 upgraded to 13 and the S5 had 16 megapixels. With smartphone cameras being such a huge selling point, Samsung is certain to once again upgrade the camera hardware and software.
