Samsung has replaced Two key Executives in Korea, Shin Jong Kyun, Head of Mobile Communications and B.K. Yoon, Co-CEO. This was natural, as Samsung is Telecom is going through a tough Time.
Samsung took some wrong decisions in 2015, regarding to wrong forecast of Galaxy S6, and landed up piling huge stocks, and a huge pay off resulted in lowering the Mobile Division Profitability.
This was reflected in Samsung Q3 2015 financial statement. As per statement released by Samsung
However, due to the price adjustment of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and increased shipments of mid-to-low end smartphones, revenue increased slightly whereas profit decreased QoQ.
Koh Dong-Jin, will replace Shin Jong Kyun. Koh was deeply involved in the launch of Galaxy Note 5. Jong-Kyun will be now involved in Long Term strategies, and will no longer look after day-to-day operations, which will be take care by Koh.
Koh Dong-Jin, is also making a similar move and will also stay on as a co-CEO of Samsung’s main electronics business.
All this took place, since Samsung Telecom Division is in question for quite some time over the profitability issue. Though, Samsung products specially Galaxy S6 Edge, Edge + and Note 5 have been well received by the Carriers and Consumers world-wide.
